About TechDug
TechDug is a publishing platform for technical writing that goes past the summary. Tutorials that list every step, how-tos that show the command and its output, deep dives that explain why a thing behaves the way it does. The site exists to give that kind of writing a clean, dependable home.
How the site is organised
- Authors have blogs. Each author writes at their own address, with a short profile, an optional introduction and the full list of their posts.
- Categories within a blog. Authors group posts into categories they define, such as a language, a tool or a series.
- Topics across blogs. Tags connect posts by different authors, so you can follow a subject rather than a person.
Built around the format
Technical posts have particular needs: code that keeps its indentation, sections that read like steps, a table of contents when a post runs long, and text that renders accents correctly in Vietnamese and other languages. TechDug handles those so authors can concentrate on getting the explanation right.
Reading and following
Reading is free and needs no account. The whole site has a feed at /feed.xml, and every author has one of their own, linked from their blog.
Comments
Anyone can reply to a post using just a name. Comments are reviewed before they are published, which keeps threads focused on the subject.
Becoming an author
TechDug is invite-only, so there is no public sign-up. If you would like to write here, tell us about it through the contact page.
