Chaotic Skyrim Clip Shows Wedding Go Horribly Wrong

Weddings are meant to be a memorable and beautiful occasion, and those in Skyrim are no different. However, a wedding in Skyrim went horribly wrong when each guest attacked each other for seemingly no reason.

In Skyrim, players can choose from a list of certain NPCs available to marry. A player must give the NPC an Amulet of Mara, after which a wedding is held at the Temple of Mara in Riften. Weddings in Skyrim tend to be a fairly quiet affair with some of the NPCs the player has met on their journey attending the ceremony. Once married, the player’s husband will live in their in-game house, open a shop and cook meals for the player.

Reddit user Cyd02 posted a video on the Skyrim subreddit of their wedding where the guests are all fighting. A wedding guest of Skyirm is seen dead on the ground and a child stands on the sidelines as if nothing happened as chaos ensues. In the comments, Cyd02 explains that this all started when they ordered their follower, Inigo, to attack someone, and then refused to go with the guards when they showed up.

Romantic options in Skyrim abound, as are the results of the wedding itself when the characters are provoked. The AI in Skyrim is very sensitive and any character can fight back if necessary, with the exception of children. One command from Cyd02’s follower and chaos erupted with no sign of stopping until the player reloads, their character dies or all the wedding guests are killed.

It’s a funny clip with a predictable outcome for Skyrim, as there’s nothing stopping Cyd02 from starting a fight at their own wedding. In all the chaos, it’s unclear who the player even married, but it doesn’t seem to matter. The expectations surrounding weddings, even in video games, are that they are meant to be moments when nothing should go wrong, but with Skyrim, anything is possible.

Getting married in Skyrim is a great opportunity for a player to have a romantic relationship with their favorite NPC, as long as they qualify for marriage and if they are a follower, they live long enough to attend the wedding. It’s also a great way to find inspiration for fans to plan their own Skyrim-themed weddings, hopefully with less chaos in real life than Cyd02’s in-game wedding.
