In this age of remakes and remasters, some may be surprised that there hasn’t been one for Bloodborne, and it seems there probably won’t be.
Currently, the video game industry is in the midst of a remake, remaster, and reimagining eruption. With the Resident Evil 4 remake coming soon, along with others of its kind such as Dead Space and The Last Of Us: Part 1, the chance to use new technology and more modern development techniques to breathe new life into old games has never been so great. been golden. Bloodborne is another title that some say could do with the remaster treatment, but as much as fans would like one, it looks like it’s not happening. At least not for the time being.
This is evident from a tweet from the well-known Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier. He recently responded to someone on Twitter asking him when he would be leaking information about an alleged upcoming Bloodborne remaster. Schreier simply replied that he couldn’t leak “what doesn’t exist”. This has convinced people in the comments that there is no such remaster in the works.
While neither developer FromSoftware nor publisher Sony have ever confirmed that the game will be overhauled, that hasn’t stopped the rumor. Last year, some fans began to believe that a remastered version of Bloodborne was in development and helped by Bluepoint Games, who have worked on projects like Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection and the Metal Gear Solid: HD Collection. While fans may be disappointed with Schreier’s response, that doesn’t mean the game won’t get a remaster at some point, but there are apparently no official plans at the moment.
As a PS4 exclusive title, many gamers have sadly missed Bloodborne. It’s a PlayStation exclusive title that some would love to see come to PC, as well as the PS5. As beloved as the game is and has been since its release in 2015, there may be many potential fans out there who would jump at the chance to play one of the most respected FromSoftware releases from the previous generation.
With Elden Ring becoming one of the highest-rated games ever, the Soulsborne formula is still popular. Some may be disappointed that a Bloodborne remaster doesn’t seem likely, at least not in the near future. On the other hand, some may find that the game is good as it is and needs no visual adjustments. In any case, many will probably agree that the game that isn’t available on any other system except the PS4 is the developer who is just leaving money on the table.
Bloodborne is now available for PS4.
